Rhinoplasty surgery

Rhinoplasty is much more than an intervention to reshape the nose; it is a precision procedure that seeks to improve facial harmony while respecting the identity of each patient. At HC Aesthetic, our philosophy is based on creating unique results that blend naturally into the features, ensuring that the change is appreciated for its beauty.

We understand that the nose is, above all, a vital organ. Therefore, each procedure is a potential septorhinoplasty: we address both aesthetics (hump, wide tip, deviations or alar base) and function, correcting deviated septum or hypertrophic turbinates so that the aesthetic improvement always goes hand in hand with optimal breathing.

Who is rhinoplasty indicated for?

Nose surgery is a versatile procedure that can address both aesthetic concerns and health problems. At HC Aesthetic, we tailor the approach to each patient’s profile:

Aesthetic contour correction

For individuals who wish to harmonise specific features of their nasal anatomy, such as the elimination of a hump, or changes caused by trauma or accident.

Improvement of respiratory function

For patients who, in addition to aesthetic reasons, have breathing difficulties due to a deviated septum or hypertrophic turbinates.

Secondary or revision rhinoplasty

For patients who have already undergone this procedure and wish to correct sequelae, improve previous unsatisfactory results or restore the structural support of the nose.

Personalised rhinoplasty

  • Clinical and functional assessment: we take a complete clinical history and perform a detailed examination of the airway.
  • Photographic and facial analysis: we capture images from various angles to analyse the nose in relation to your facial features.
  • Simulation and realistic goals: We determine realistic goals and, if appropriate, perform an indicative simulation to help you understand these realistic objectives.

What can rhinoplasty correct?

Modern rhinoplasty allows us to act on specific structures to improve both the shape of the nose and the patient’s wellbeing.

Our goal is for you to look better while still being you. Rhinoplasty can smooth features and improve breathing, but it does not offer millimetric perfection or absolute symmetry.

    • Profile and nasal dorsum: precise removal of the hump (bone) and narrowing of the width of the dorsum, achieving a straight and balanced profile.

    • Tip definition: correction of lack of support or excess volume at the tip of the nose. This includes raising drooping tips, narrowing wide or bulbous tips and adjusting the projection.

    • Alignment and asymmetries: correction of deviations in the axis of the nose, whether congenital or caused by previous fractures.

    • Functional septorhinoplasty: During the same operation, we correct the deviated septum and reduce the size of the turbinates, allowing correct breathing.

Dysmorphophobia (body dysmorphic disorder)

If you spend a large part of your day worrying about your nose, avoiding photos, plans or looking for impossible perfection, then we can assess together whether psychological support is advisable before surgery. Surgery is not always the solution; your mental wellbeing comes first.

How do we align expectations?

    • We listen to your concerns and expectations.
    • Aesthetic and functional analysis.
    • Time for reflection before scheduling surgery.

Results philosophy: naturalness and function

At HC Aesthetic, we are convinced that the ideal rhinoplasty is one that enhances the face without revealing the fact that you have undergone surgery. Our approach prioritises naturalness and function, rejecting standard results to seek an overall facial harmony that respects your personal identity.

What to expect after rhinoplasty

The journey to the final result of a rhinoplasty is a gradual process where recovery, swelling downtime management and medical follow-up are essential stages of the treatment.

Understanding the natural evolution process of the tissues and following the personal care instructions will allow us to ensure that the new nasal structure settles correctly, guaranteeing an optimal balance between respiratory health and the aesthetic harmony of your face.

    • Nasal packing: 2-4 days.
    • External nose splint: wear for 7-10 days.
    • Swelling and bruising: 5-10 days.
    • Physical activity: avoid for 4–6 weeks.
    • Wearing glasses: wait 4-6 weeks.
    • Sun protection: use sunscreen during the first month.

Although complications are rare, there are risks that we should be aware of:

    • In a small percentage of cases slight irregularities or small asymmetries may appear during the healing process.
    • Episodes of bleeding or infection may occur.
    • Nasal congestion is normal after surgery. Very rare cases, nasal obstruction may persist and require additional treatment to ensure optimal air passage.
    • Due to the complexity of the nasal anatomy, there is a small chance that subsequent touch-up may be required to further refine the result or to correct minor deviations in the healing process.

Although changes are noticeable from the first moment, the final result of rhinoplasty is a dynamic process that requires time and patience to be fully visible.

It is important to note that the nasal tip is the area that takes the longest to settle and requires 6 to 12 months to reach its final shape.

The final result is regarded as definitive after the first year, when internal healing has been completed.

    Frequently asked questions about rhinoplasty

Because your wellbeing comes first, we have gathered a list of the most common questions other patients have already asked us in consultation, to help you clear up any doubts you may have before your first visit:

Rhinoplasty is not usually a painful procedure. Most patients report a sensation of congestion similar to that of a common cold. The discomfort is perfectly bearable with the prescribed medication, and the feeling of pressure subsides quickly after the first few days.

This depends on the technique used. In closed rhinoplasty, all incisions are internal and there is no external scar. In the open technique, a minimal incision is made in the columella (the base between the nostrils) which, once healed, is practically imperceptible to the human eye.

Yes, if there is a deviated septum or turbinate hypertrophy, we perform rhinoseptoplasty. This comprehensive approach allows us to correct the functional structure in the same surgical procedure, ensuring you breathe better while beautifying the external shape.

Yes, you may bring images as a source of inspiration to help us understand your aesthetic preferences. However, we will only use them as a guide to adapt the plan to your own anatomy, ensuring a result that is harmonious with your features and technically feasible.
